Data Solutions Architect – Relocate to Oman

About the role

Introduct Group is seeking a senior Data Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise‑scale data platforms for a European internet marketplace. The position is based on‑site in Muscat, Oman and focuses on Oracle‑native deployments, including Exadata, while collaborating with client architects and business SMEs.

Key responsibilities

• Architect large‑scale data warehouses, data marts, ODS, integration hubs and analytical layers with Oracle Exadata.
• Create high‑level and low‑level design artefacts, canonical data models, source‑to‑target mappings and topology diagrams.
• Lead hands‑on implementation of schema design, PL/SQL development, ETL/ELT pipelines, partitioning strategies and materialized view refresh architectures.
• Define platform‑wide standards for data modelling (Kimball, Data Vault 2.0, 3NF), naming conventions, data quality and code structure.
• Conduct architecture and code reviews, providing technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid‑level engineers.
• Optimise Oracle performance through execution‑plan tuning, partition pruning, indexing, parallel query, compression and Exadata‑specific features.
• Engage with client architects, DBAs and business SMEs during discovery, design workshops and delivery checkpoints.
• Produce delivery‑grade documentation: architecture decisions, runbooks, data dictionaries and operational handover packs.
• Contribute technical input to proposals, pre‑sales sizing and effort estimation for Oracle‑heavy scopes.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture or data platform roles.
• Professional services or consultancy background, comfortable owning technical outcomes on client‑facing projects.
• Experience delivering enterprise‑scale, multi‑terabyte data platforms with high‑availability and multi‑source integration.
• Track record of working on projects for public‑sector clients such as police or law‑enforcement agencies.

Required skills

• Oracle PL/SQL, RAC, Exadata, Materialized Views, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle DB 19c+.
• Data modelling: Kimball dimensional, Data Vault 2.0, 3NF/relational designs.
• Data integration patterns: CDC, bulk/incremental loads, SCD types, event‑driven ingestion.
• SQL Server T‑SQL, SSIS, SSAS (strong plus).
• ETL/ELT pipeline development, partitioning, parallel query, compression, Smart Scan, Storage Indexes, Hybrid Columnar Compression.
