Front Desk Supervisor

About the role

The Front Desk Supervisor ensures smooth guest arrivals and departures while supporting the front‑desk team in handling payments, reservations, and guest requests. This position is pivotal in delivering high‑quality service and maintaining operational standards at the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Assist staff with expediting problem payments, such as credit‑card issues.
• Follow up with guests to confirm satisfaction on any guest‑related issues.
• Process all guest check‑ins, confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing/activating room keys.
• Handle all payment types, including cash, checks, debit, and credit.
• Set up accurate guest accounts at check‑in, managing room charges, taxes, incidentals, and comps.
• Anticipate sold‑out situations and secure alternative accommodations when needed.
• Block rooms in the system and record special requests.
• Coordinate with Bellperson, Housekeeping, and other departments to resolve guest calls and requests.
• Track room readiness with Housekeeping and maintain shift logs.
• Count and balance cash drawers at shift start and end, dropping receipts per accounting guidelines.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching staff.
• Report accidents or unsafe conditions and complete required safety training.
• Uphold company policies, professional appearance, and confidentiality of information.
• Perform physical duties such as standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 10 lb.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related hospitality or front‑desk experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
