Head of Construction – Offshore Platform Fabrication

About the role

The Head of Construction will lead the fabrication of a compression platform complex for a major oil & gas operator in Sohar, Oman. This senior position oversees all phases from yard activities through load‑out, ensuring safety, quality and schedule targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and execute all fabrication activities for the offshore compression platform.
• Supervise contractor and subcontractor work on topsides fabrication, mechanical completion and pre‑commissioning.
• Ensure constructability aligns with project engineering drawings, international standards and QatarEnergy LNG construction standards.
• Review and manage deviations, progress reports, and corrective actions.
• Lead risk assessments, pre‑job meetings and interface coordination between company and contractor teams.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in offshore platform fabrication or similar large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of international construction standards and LNG project requirements.
• Ability to manage multi‑disciplinary contractor teams and drive issue resolution.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and stakeholder liaison.
