Head of Investment Strategy & Research

About the role

The prestigious government‑owned investment organisation in Oman is seeking a senior professional to lead its Investment Strategy & Research function. This strategic position will shape capital deployment, drive portfolio performance and support long‑term value creation aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess investment opportunities across key Omani sectors.
• Conduct financial modelling, valuation, feasibility studies and investment appraisals.
• Perform commercial, financial and strategic due diligence.
• Develop investment strategies and business cases for executive decision‑making.
• Monitor portfolio performance and recommend value‑creation initiatives.
• Analyse market trends, economic developments and sector opportunities.
• Prepare investment reports and presentations for senior management.
• Build relationships with government entities, investors and strategic partners.
• Support acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships and other strategic investment initiatives.
• Ensure investment decisions align with the organisation’s long‑term objectives and Oman Vision 2040.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree and/or professional qualifications such as CFA, CAIA or CPA are advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in investment management, corporate finance, private equity, investment banking, sovereign wealth funds or asset management.
• Proven experience preparing investment recommendations for executive committees.
• Deep understanding of the Omani investment landscape and key growth sectors.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.
