Head of Product Technology

About the role

We are building a greenfield central securities depository in Oman, slated to launch in 2027. As Head of Product Technology you will own the end‑to‑end technology platform – both the application that delivers settlement finality and the underlying infrastructure that ensures resilience, low latency and high availability.

Key responsibilities

• Design the technology reference architecture from a blank sheet, covering application, infrastructure topology, database, network, integration, security and disaster‑recovery.
• Own the full lifecycle of the application: design, configuration, data model, change management and support.
• Own the hosting environment – compute, storage, networking, virtualization, databases and middleware – whether on‑premise, hosted or cloud.
• Define and implement high‑availability, backup, recovery and business‑continuity strategies, and validate fail‑over processes.
• Manage platform performance, latency, capacity planning and headroom strategy.
• Lead first‑line security: secure configuration, hardening, IAM, vulnerability management, patching and incident response.
• Oversee the technical relationship with the build vendor and ensure delivery against functional, technical and operational targets.
• Design the operating model: team structure, shift patterns, on‑call rotations, incident command and runbooks.
• Manage integrations with custodians, settlement banks, exchanges, SWIFT, Bloomberg and ISIN infrastructure.
• Line‑manage Application Managers, Database Administrators and the broader platform engineering team.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in financial‑services platform technology.
• Proven track record of architecting and owning a mission‑critical, regulated financial platform from inception.
• Strong leadership skills with experience building and running high‑performance engineering teams.
• Ability to think holistically across application and infrastructure layers.
