Incharge Rigging - Shutdown/Turnaround

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Rigging & Heavy Lifting Professional to lead and coordinate complex rigging operations during shutdown and turnaround projects. The role ensures all lifting activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee rigging and heavy‑lifting operations for safe and successful project execution.
• Develop, review and approve lifting plans, rigging studies, method statements and checklists.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, international lifting standards and statutory regulations.
• Lead pre‑lift meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and safety briefings.
• Maintain accurate records of daily lifting activities, equipment inspections and status reports.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and on‑site training to rigging personnel.
• Supervise large teams of riggers and rigging supervisors, managing workforce utilization and schedules.
• Identify lifting hazards, implement mitigation measures and drive continuous improvement.
• Interface with clients, contractors and stakeholders on heavy‑lifting matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or DAE in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional certification in Rigging Level III or equivalent internationally recognised qualification (preferred).
• 15+ years of hands‑on rigging experience, especially in shutdown/turnaround environments.
• Proven leadership of large rigging teams in the Oil & Gas sector.

Required skills

• Load chart analysis and interpretation.
• Strong command of lifting tackles and crane capacity planning.
• Rigging Level III certification (or equivalent).
• Mechanical engineering technical background.
