Lathe Operator

About the role

The Lathe Operator position is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Salalah, Oman. You will be responsible for setting up and operating lathe machines to produce precision components based on engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret technical and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements.
• Select appropriate tools, materials, and set‑up parameters for each job.
• Operate lathe and related machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine measurements to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Carry out basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the lathe and accessories.
• Coordinate with supervisors and technicians to ensure job requirements are met.
• Adhere to safety procedures and company standards at all times.

Required profile

• Experience with technical drawing interpretation and engineering specifications.
• Proven ability to operate lathe and milling equipment.
• Basic maintenance skills for machining tools.
• Familiarity with measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Knowledge of quality inspection methods for machined parts.
• Ability to work safely in a team environment and follow clear communication protocols.
• A technical diploma or certification in machining, mechanical technology, or a related field is advantageous.
