Lead Engineer Energy Performance

About the role

The Lead Engineer Energy Performance will lead the development, implementation and maintenance of OQ’s Energy Management System (EnMS) across all operated assets, driving continuous improvement in energy performance, operational efficiency and decarbonisation.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and operate the EnMS on all OQEP assets, maintaining manuals, procedures and documentation in line with international standards.
• Conduct periodic energy reviews, identify Significant Energy Uses (SEUs), set baselines and monitor Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver energy‑efficiency, optimisation and decarbonisation projects within approved scope, budget and schedule.
• Lead EnMT meetings, manage the Energy Data Collection Plan and ensure accurate, timely data submission.
• Plan, schedule and execute EnMS audits, report findings and close corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process/Chemical or Energy Engineering; postgraduate qualification in Energy Management preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical/electrical/process engineering or energy management, preferably in oil & gas.
• ISO Lead Auditor certification mandatory; Certified Energy Manager (CEM) desirable.
• Proven experience implementing ISO 50001‑compliant EnMS and delivering measurable energy cost savings.
