Lead Process Engineer – Senior (Sohar, Oman)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Process Engineer (Senior) to join our client’s refinery operations in Sohar, Oman. The role focuses on delivering technical excellence across key process units, driving optimization projects and supporting major engineering studies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead feasibility, front‑end design (FED) and EPC studies for refinery process units.
• Drive process and energy optimization projects, including benchmarking studies.
• Conduct field investigations, inspections, troubleshooting and performance checks.
• Prepare technical evaluations, tender scopes and specifications for chemicals, catalysts and equipment.
• Maintain and interpret process plant drawings (P&ID, PFD) and OEM manuals.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas, refinery or petrochemical engineering.
• Expertise in Hydrocracker, Hydrotreating, Isomerization and Indirect Alkylation; background in Distillation and RFCC is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with Hydrocracker, Diesel Hydrotreater, CDU, VDU, Hydrogen units, etc.
• Proven track record in feasibility studies, EPC projects and process optimisation.
• Strong knowledge of HSE, Process Safety, H2S awareness and emergency response.
