Operations and Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager acts as the Owner's representative, overseeing all O&M activities for a portfolio of utility‑scale solar PV plants, wind farms and associated substations. The role safeguards asset performance, availability and long‑term value by managing contractors, contracts, spare‑parts inventory and site engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead tendering, evaluation and selection of O&M contractors and specialized subcontractors.
• Negotiate, finalize and monitor O&M contracts, Long‑Term Service Agreements and maintenance scopes of work.
• Track contractor performance against KPIs, SLAs and availability guarantees, applying bonuses or penalties as required.
• Supervise O&M site engineers, supervisors and technical staff across solar, wind and substation sites, setting performance objectives and managing shift and on‑call rosters.
• Approve maintenance schedules, permits‑to‑work and outage plans in coordination with grid operators.
• Develop and maintain spare‑parts strategies, oversee procurement, storage and logistics to minimise downtime.
• Manage equipment warranties, file and follow up warranty claims, and maintain a central register of serial numbers, warranty periods and service history.
• Serve as primary contact with OEMs and equipment suppliers, coordinating failure analysis and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing O&M operations for renewable‑energy assets (solar, wind, substations).
• Strong knowledge of contract management, KPI monitoring and warranty processes.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary site teams and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder coordination, including owners, contractors and OEMs.
