Principal / Lead Engineer (Civil, Structural & Architectural)

About the role

The Principal/Lead Engineer will provide civil, structural and architectural expertise across all design phases of oil & gas facilities. The role involves leading design teams, coordinating with vendors and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide civil engineering input for front‑end and detailed design packages and support designers and draftsmen.
• Monitor vendor deliverables, ensure timely high‑quality products and verify compliance with project specifications.
• Prepare requisitions, evaluate technical bids and manage interfaces with other disciplines and suppliers.
• Review construction, testing and commissioning activities for adherence to design specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in design and specification of civil, structural and architectural structures, preferably in oil & gas facilities.
• Fluent spoken and written English with ability to produce clear reports and conduct client/vendor discussions.
• Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng/M.Sc.) and preferred professional approval (e.g., DA 2 from PDO).
