QA/QC Inspector for Mineral Processing Projects

About the role

Lycopodium is seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector to join its project team in Yanqul, Oman. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will travel on an 8‑week on / 2‑week off roster, flying economy class from any global location to the site.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with project‑specific requirements, industry codes and standards.
• Assist in creating, implementing and maintaining project procedures, work practices, plans and protocols.
• Support project control activities such as scheduling, forecasting and deliverable tracking.
• Provide advice on the Quality Management System in line with client contract requirements.
• Monitor quality performance, prepare reports and conduct QA/QC inspections.
• Prepare, implement and maintain project quality plans and ensure contractual quality requirements are met.
• Carry out site engineering duties while prioritising safety, environment and community relations.
• Inspect vendor premises and review vendor quality documentation.
• Mentor junior personnel and contribute to professional development and succession planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years post‑graduate experience in project or field engineering, preferably on mineral processing plants or similar capital projects.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering, welding, material science, construction management or business management.
• Experience with bulk material handling equipment such as stackers, reclaimers or ship loaders is highly regarded.
• Relevant qualifications (ISO 9001 QMS implementation, welding inspection to AS/NZS 1554.1, NACE II coating inspection) are advantageous but not mandatory.
