Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will oversee day‑to‑day finance and accounting activities for Al Safi Danone’s operations in Oman. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports working capital management, and maintains compliance with corporate policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and record all financial transactions for the Oman operations.
• Manage the Accounts Receivable process, produce customer aging reports, and reconcile customer accounts.
• Coordinate with the sales team to ensure timely collection of receivables.
• Oversee the Purchase‑to‑Pay cycle, validating vendor transactions and expense claims.
• Review Trade Marketing and Discounts & Allowances expenditures for budget compliance.
• Ensure all transactions adhere to ASD policies, internal controls, and support audit requirements.
• Prepare monthly accruals, period‑end journal entries, and assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial closes.
• Produce accurate financial reports and ad‑hoc analyses for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CMA or equivalent) preferred.
• 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a distributor business model.
• Experience in FMCG or dairy industry is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
