Senior Engineer – Risk Based Inspection (RBI)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to lead Risk Based Inspection (RBI) activities for the corrosion circuit at OQ8. The role provides technical support, develops inspection strategies and ensures integrity of refinery assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive corrosion assessments across refinery units and maintain Corrosion Control Documents.
• Direct and maintain the refinery’s RBI program in compliance with API RP 580/581, validating data and translating outputs into optimized inspection plans.
• Establish and monitor Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) for critical parameters and lead investigations of exceedances.
• Define corrosion and RBI scopes for turnarounds, provide on‑site technical leadership during execution, and support capital projects with material reviews.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME, NACE/AMPP standards and local regulations, develop KPIs and integrity dashboards, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in metallurgy, corrosion, or chemical engineering within refinery operations.
• Strong knowledge of API RP 571, API RP 580/581, and asset integrity management.
• Proficiency with process plant drawings (P&ID, PFD) and OEM manuals.
• Experience with HSE permit‑to‑work, process safety and emergency response procedures.

Required skills

• Risk Based Inspection methodology and RBI software (APM, RBI modules).
• Asset Performance Management systems, SAP PM/MM/FM, Primavera, Maximo.
• Non‑Destructive Testing techniques and corrosion monitoring tools.
• Data analysis and risk matrix development using probability of failure and consequence of failure models.
