Senior Instrumentation Designer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Designer to produce high‑quality engineering drawings for oil & gas projects. The role demands strong technical expertise and the ability to guide a team of designers, ensuring all deliverables meet industry standards and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform layout studies and finalize plot plans.
• Develop and produce detailed instrument engineering drawings.
• Conduct instrument studies, generate general arrangement (GA) drawings, and understand instrument classes.
• Coordinate design interfaces across disciplines and maintain existing drawings.
• Execute thorough design quality checks and provide expert review of peer drawings.
• Ensure design documents are completed within allocated project hours and deadlines.
• Liaise with vendors, other departments, and project personnel for seamless integration of documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum diploma in Engineering.
• At least 12 years of experience in an engineering design firm, with 10 years in oil & gas facility design.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in spoken and written English.
• Construction and commissioning field experience, including resolving site queries.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably SmartPlant and E3D.
• Familiarity with company standards, Shell Group DEPs, and international engineering standards.
• Understanding of vendor documentation and interface points with company engineering documents.
• Competence with PC applications relevant to design and documentation.
