Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will support the execution of the annual internal audit plan for a confidential investment client in Oman. The role focuses on risk‑based audits, evaluating governance, risk management and internal control processes, and delivering practical recommendations to improve efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute risk‑based internal audit assignments in line with the approved audit plan and methodology.
• Perform process walkthroughs, control testing and risk assessments.
• Identify control gaps, operational inefficiencies and compliance issues, and recommend improvements.
• Prepare audit working papers, draft audit reports and follow up on management actions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Maintain effective relationships with management and process owners, participating in audit meetings.
• Support the preparation of periodic reports and presentations for senior management and the Board Audit & Risk Committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Professional certification preferred (e.g., CIA, ACCA, CPA).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, risk advisory or related assurance roles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using audit management tools.
• Data analytics capability (advantageous).
