Senior Manager / Director – Freight Forwarding

About the role

Asyad Logistics is seeking a senior leader to head its Freight Forwarding business in Oman. The position carries full profit and loss responsibility for air, sea, road freight and customs clearance, driving growth, margin improvement and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Freight Forwarding strategy, annual business plan and budget aligned with corporate growth ambitions.
• Drive commercial expansion by winning new business, penetrating target sectors and building a healthy pipeline across all service lines.
• Identify and launch new products, trade lanes, customer segments and value‑added forwarding solutions.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents, transport partners, customs authorities and key government entities.
• Lead end‑to‑end operations across air, sea, road freight and customs clearance to ensure service reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain full P&L accountability, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement and cost discipline.
• Drive pricing discipline, job profitability, vendor cost control and operational efficiency to improve gross margin and EBIT.
• Oversee timely billing, credit control, collections and cash‑flow performance to minimise revenue leakage.
• Ensure compliance with Omani customs rules, international trade regulations and internal governance requirements.
• Manage key cost drivers including transport procurement, vendor agreements, subcontracted services, manpower and claims exposure.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in freight forwarding or multimodal logistics.
• Full P&L accountability experience in a complex, high‑volume environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of winning new business and expanding market share.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with national logistics objectives.
• Deep knowledge of Omani customs regulations and international trade compliance.
• Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, pricing discipline and cash‑flow oversight.
• Experience building and managing strategic partnerships with airlines, shipping lines and government agencies.
