Bear Base Superintendent

About the role

The Bear Base Superintendent oversees storage, maintenance, and accountability of all BEAR Order of Battle (BOB) Base and Civil Engineering equipment. This position ensures compliance with the Performance Work Statement and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System while supporting both training exercises and real‑world deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and manage equipment and assets, performing visual inspections on newly received and returned items.
• Maintain parts, tools, and supplies; requisition additional items as needed to support maintenance work.
• Coordinate shop work assignments with Work Control and align production requirements with Operations, Production, and Supply Managers.
• Develop and implement procedures for BOB equipment technical work and update technical orders and maintenance action sheets.
• Conduct training on quality assurance, safety, hazardous material handling, and security awareness for supervisory personnel.
• Inspect hazardous materials, manage HAZMAT disposal, and ensure proper personal protective equipment usage.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with a background in mechanical/electrical equipment or facilities maintenance.
• Minimum five years’ supervisory experience with US Air Force or commercial civil‑engineering equipment, including familiarity with RED HORSE or similar DoD contingency systems.
• US citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.
• Physical ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lb and work outdoors for extended periods.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) on Windows operating systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical data, manuals, and technical orders.
• CSC certification (or ability to obtain).
• Experience with Maximo asset management preferred.
• Familiarity with Harvest Falcon, Eagle, RED HORSE, and BEAR assets preferred.
• Material handling equipment operation and HAZMAT handling knowledge.
