Shift Engineer

About the role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing operational activities during each shift at the ACWA plant, ensuring efficiency, productivity and safety while meeting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise shift team members to achieve production targets and ensure compliance with policies, processes and safety standards.
• Monitor plant performance, review SOPs and work instructions, and make rapid decisions to correct abnormalities, coordinating with maintenance and other departments.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct special testing programs, analyze operating logs and reports, and recommend operational improvements.
• Administer SAP processes for planning, scheduling, breakdown review, corrective maintenance notifications, work‑order creation and data integrity.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, security and environmental procedures, report incidents, and manage emergencies according to the company response plan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years experience in water desalination and power generation plants, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven people‑management, mentoring and coaching abilities.
• Strong planning, organizing and integration skills.

Required skills

• SAP working knowledge.
• Familiarity with the new IMS system.
• Project management competence.
• Knowledge of plant equipment used in water desalination and power generation.
