Special Projects Specialist

About the role

Vodafone Oman is seeking an energetic self‑starter to join its Special Projects team. The specialist will support the security entity and help ensure optimal performance of the network across wireless, core, and fiber domains.

Key responsibilities

• Understand GSM, LTE and upcoming 5G standards to maintain network quality.
• Provide expertise on Mobile Core Network components (MSCs, HLRs, VLRs, EPC) for voice, data and messaging services.
• Design and deploy fiber‑optic networks, including route planning, splicing and equipment installation.
• Provision, activate and upgrade services while troubleshooting disruptions.
• Configure IP routers, switches and firewalls for data, VoIP and secure connectivity.
• Liaise with governmental entities to obtain approvals for network changes.
• Collaborate with business units, engineering teams and multicultural stakeholders to plan releases and prioritize demand.
• Deliver results under high‑stress, tight‑deadline situations.
