Accountant – Finance & VAT Specialist

About the role

SERB, Oman’s national UTM platform, is seeking a hands‑on Accountant to ensure accurate, compliant and audit‑ready financial operations. The role is based in Muscat and involves managing day‑to‑day accounting tasks across multiple systems while supporting VAT filing and payroll processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting entries, perform reconciliations and generate financial reports using Zoho Books and other platforms.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with Oman Tax Authority regulations.
• Process monthly payroll and salaries, including the Wage Protection System (WPS).
• Create quotations, issue invoices, and manage bank transfers and payments.
• Audit sales and revenue records and provide support for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional accounting experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Zoho Books or similar accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of Oman VAT filing requirements and payroll processing.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and able to meet strict deadlines.
• Bonus: background in an audit firm or a startup environment.
