Junior Accountant

About the role

The Junior Accountant will support daily accounting and finance activities, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, timely payments, and compliance with Omani statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Record day‑to‑day accounting transactions, verify supplier invoices and expense claims, and process payments in line with approved procedures.
• Handle banking operations, prepare monthly bank reconciliations, and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly payroll for review, maintain customer receipt records, and reconcile customer accounts with sales teams.
• Assist with project cost tracking for property development, VAT calculations, and month‑end/year‑end closing activities.
• Support the preparation of accounting schedules, reports for management review, and coordinate audit documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in real‑estate or construction environments.
• Experience in Oman or another GCC country is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet payment and reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, lookups, PivotTables, reconciliation worksheets).
• Practical experience with accounting software or an ERP system.
• Understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and month‑end closing procedures.
