Aircraft Electrical & Environmental E&E Specialist (F-16)

About the role

The F-16 C/D Electrical and Environmental (E&E) Specialist is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and testing aircraft electronic systems and components. This position supports both flightline and back‑shop environments and may involve training other technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect, remove, install, repair, modify, and overhaul aircraft E&E systems and associated support equipment using technical data and specialized tools.
• Upload operational software and flight programs, maintain software currency, and perform bench‑checks and operational checks on systems such as landing gear, fire detection, power, lighting, and environmental controls.
• Interpret inspection findings, determine corrective actions, and ensure maintenance records are accurate and compliant with technical orders.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, supervise RAFO technicians, and act as a quality‑assurance mentor for the shop.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years recent experience with F‑16 electrical and environmental systems (Block 40 or above).
• High school diploma or equivalent; US citizenship required for facility credentials.
• Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances and facility authorizations.

Required skills

• Aircraft electrical and environmental system troubleshooting.
• Use of wiring diagrams, ohm meters, electronic measuring equipment, and ground support equipment.
• Software upload and flight program management.
• Inspection and analysis of heating/air‑conditioning, avionics cooling, OBOGS, fire detection, power, lighting, and pressurization systems.
