Aircraft Technician

About the role

SalamAir is hiring a full-time Aircraft Technician in Muscat. The technician performs and supports aircraft maintenance under the direction of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, covering servicing, inspections, troubleshooting, defect rectification and component replacement. All work must be done safely and efficiently in line with approved maintenance data, company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, servicing, inspection and related activities according to approved maintenance data, company procedures and the Licensed Aircraft Engineer's instructions.
• Assist engineers with arrival and departure inspections, transit checks, walk-around inspections, defect troubleshooting and rectification.
• Operate specialized maintenance equipment, test equipment, ground support equipment and tooling safely, and keep tools and equipment controlled, serviceable and calibrated where needed.
• Report hazards, errors, incidents, accidents or aircraft damage immediately and complete the required reports; record delays and incidents on prescribed forms.
• Prepare adequately for each task, with tools, equipment, materials and documentation available.
• Comply with Airport Authority rules, company procedures and HSE policies, and attend all required recurrent, continuation, competency, safety and technical training.
• Help keep maintenance areas, workshops, equipment, tools and vehicles clean, secure and serviceable.
• Perform other maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Required profile

• Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or completion of basic Part-147 training.
• 2 years of apprenticeship in airline engineering base or line maintenance.
