About the role
The APG Crew Chief is responsible for keeping the F-16 aircraft in safe working condition by servicing engines, airframe components, and all electro‑mechanical systems. The role includes performing routine troubleshooting, inspections, and maintenance at the organizational level.
Key responsibilities
- Perform major maintenance such as landing gear replacement, flight control replacement, and periodical inspections.
- Service aircraft through end‑of‑runway, postflight, preflight, thru‑flight, and phase inspections, including integrated combat turns and hot‑pit refuels.
- Supervise and conduct aircraft jacking, lifting, towing, and component inspections, ensuring compliance with technical data and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, and automated maintenance data systems, and manage inventory of aircraft equipment.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years of experience on aircraft similar to the F-16.
- High school diploma or GED with a certificate of completion.
- Experience with intermediate level maintenance on F-16 Block 50, phase inspections, and troubleshooting system failures.
- US citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.
