Assistant Chief Steward – Luxury Resort

About the role

As Assistant Chief Steward at Six Senses Zighy Bay, you will support the Chief Steward in delivering the resort’s vision of reconnecting guests with themselves, others and the environment through exceptional hospitality and sustainable practices.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the stewarding function across all kitchen areas, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation and compliance with health regulations.
• Manage stock levels, par stocks and liaise with Purchasing and suppliers for stewarding needs.
• Set up work stations, maintain dishwashing equipment, monitor chemical levels and optimise kitchen traffic flow.
• Control storeroom orders, issue china, silver and glass, and ensure all food and beverage outlets have adequate equipment.
• Supervise daily operations of stewarding staff, communicate objectives, schedule work and enforce policies.
• Monitor and analyse costs, breakage and quality, controlling expenses within the established budget.
• Maintain inventory security procedures and ensure compliance with legal, statutory and financial requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ experience in stewarding, kitchen maintenance or related operations, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service operations is preferred.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid health/food handler card as required by local authorities.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and demonstrate strong leadership.
