Assistant Pastry Chef

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Pastry Chef to support the Pastry Chef in creating high‑quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods. The role involves daily kitchen operations while upholding strict standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing pastries, cakes, desserts, breads and other baked products.
• Measure and prepare ingredients accurately according to recipes.
• Help with decorating, plating and presentation of finished items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and workstations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards at all times.
• Monitor ingredient stocks and report shortages.
• Operate and maintain pastry equipment safely.
• Support development and testing of new products when required.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, bakery, hotel, restaurant or catering environment.
• Knowledge of pastry and baking techniques.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Culinary or pastry‑related certification is an advantage.
