Avionics Technician – F-16 Block 50

About the role

The Avionics Technician (F-16 Block 50+) is responsible for fabricating, maintaining, and testing electronic systems and components on advanced fighter aircraft. The role involves hands‑on work in a shop environment, ensuring avionics systems are operational and meet performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, test, and modify NAV Attack, Flight Controls Radar, SMS, Comm/Nav and ECM systems on F-16 Block 50+ aircraft.
• Operate avionics systems using aircraft controls to assess operational condition and isolate malfunctions.
• Remove and install components, perform alignment calibration, bore‑sight avionics, and upload operational software.
• Inspect, analyze, and evaluate avionics systems; interpret findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Review maintenance publications, suggest process improvements, and provide on‑the‑job training to junior technicians.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience with F‑16 Block 50+ avionics (or 8 years supporting F‑16 aircraft).
• Relevant AFSC (2A3X4, 2A354, 2A374) or equivalent qualification.
• High school diploma; US citizenship required for facility credentials.
• Willingness to train on additional aircraft maintenance tasks.
• Physical ability to lift parts up to 25 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally.
