Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will plan, execute and supervise complex mechanical engineering and maintenance activities for medium to high‑complexity power and water plant systems. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation while driving continuous improvement of plant reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex mechanical issues, perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan, supervise and execute preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance for rotating and static equipment following OEM recommendations.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians during overhauls, shutdowns and emergency repairs.
• Collaborate on condition monitoring, performance analysis and solution development with vendors and maintenance teams.
• Develop, review and update SOPs, work instructions and technical documentation, interpreting drawings and manuals.
• Maintain accurate records in CMMS/SAP, prepare maintenance and failure analysis reports.
• Identify critical spare parts, manage tenders, negotiate contracts and evaluate vendor reliability.
• Participate in shutdown planning, ensuring scope, resources and schedules are realistic.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and engineering standards.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on reliability, cost optimisation and energy efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• 5‑8 years of relevant mechanical engineering and maintenance experience.
• Fluent English (Arabic a plus).
