Branch & Operations Manager – Shipping Agency (Sohar)

About the role

JP Shipping is launching a new branch in Sohar, Oman, and seeks an experienced professional to lead all shipping agency activities. The Branch & Operations Manager will be hands‑on, overseeing daily vessel operations while guiding junior staff to ensure smooth and efficient port services.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise branch activities and directly participate in vessel arrival and departure procedures.
• Coordinate junior operators and boarding clerks, monitoring performance and driving improvements.
• Identify and propose new business opportunities to senior management.
• Prepare final Disbursement Accounts (DA) in collaboration with the administrative department.
• Liaise with local authorities to guarantee compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Optimize branch resources and produce analytical reports for management decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a shipping or boarding agent in Oman.
• Strong knowledge of local vessel arrival/departure procedures and international shipping regulations.
• Excellent leadership, people‑management, and relationship‑building abilities.
• Fluent English (IELTS 7.0 / C1 level) – both spoken and written.
• University degree is a preferred qualification.
