Breakwater Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Breakwater Engineer to lead the review and validation of breakwater and coastal protection designs. The role involves ensuring all deliverables meet contract requirements, international standards, and best‑practice engineering principles.

Key responsibilities

• Review design calculations, reports, specifications, construction drawings and other deliverables for breakwaters and related structures.
• Assess structural stability under wave loading, overtopping, scour, settlement and other marine conditions.
• Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with the design team and client to resolve technical comments and design issues.
• Provide technical advice in design review meetings and prepare detailed review comments for client submission.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of cumulative professional experience in civil engineering.
• Registered civil engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; postgraduate degree in marine structures, coastal engineering, port engineering or equivalent is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in detailed/final design of breakwaters and coastal protection structures.
• Proven involvement in at least two large‑scale port or marine infrastructure projects.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
