Cashier – Food Service Representative

About the role

The IKEA Food Representative works on the store floor to drive food sales, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure smooth cash‑handling operations. This position supports the IKEA Food Business (IFB) by merchandising products, operating the checkout, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Merchandise IFB articles according to IKEA standards, label and price them correctly.
• Use selling tools to increase average transaction value and items per transaction.
• Operate the cash register, compute and record transactions with 100% accuracy.
• Handle cash safely, follow SOPs for counting, float management and transaction processing.
• Prepare IFB units before store opening and keep checkout areas clean and orderly.
• Participate in monthly stock takes and support inventory control.
• Engage with customers daily, gather feedback and address any incidents or complaints.
• Collaborate with the Chef to improve product knowledge.
• Attend mandatory training and stay updated on food‑safety legislation.

• Attention to detail for accurate cash handling and product presentation.
• Willingness to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings before store opening.
