Chief AGE Mechanic

About the role

The Chief AGE Mechanic leads the AGE shop, supervising technicians, conducting inspections, and ensuring maintenance of aircraft ground support equipment in Oman.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and evaluate AGE technicians while managing day‑to‑day shop operations.
• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and fuel systems of turbine, diesel and gasoline driven AGE.
• Stock, requisition, and manage parts, tools, and supplies; prepare equipment for exercises, deployments and transportation.
• Ensure compliance with USAF/Amentum technical data, Performance Work Statement and ISO 9001 QMS.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience with US Air Force or civilian aircraft ground support equipment maintenance.
• Valid home‑country driver’s license and ability to obtain a host‑nation license.
• US citizenship required for facility credentials at this location.
• Physical ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 lb and work in noisy, outdoor environments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and fuel system diagnostics and repair.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Windows operating systems.
• Experience operating material handling equipment and reviewing wiring diagrams/schematics.
• Familiarity with USAF technical orders, ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and maintenance action sheets.
