Chief Engineering

About the role

Accor is looking for a Chief Engineer in Muscat. The post ensures the efficient operation of the hotel property and all its equipment, covers ancillary maintenance and repair services, protects the owner's asset and includes structural aspects of the hotel, as well as the maintenance of grounds and external facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily briefings, supervise and manage daily department activities, and make sure team members are trained, equipped and aware of local safety laws and regulations
• Work with design and construction teams, engineers and architects on renovations, contact contractors for bids and meet construction supervisors
• Supervise maintenance and repair of the interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, and run the preventive maintenance programme
• Set up procedures for the security and replenishment of tools, supplies, equipment, furniture and other assets, and possibly manage the relationship with a third-party security firm
• Monitor the budget and control expenses, and take part in preparing the annual departmental budget
• Plan staffing needs, interview and recruit staff, mentor and train employees, hold performance reviews and prepare weekly schedules, payroll and gratuity reports
• Know hotel fire and life safety procedures, comply with policies, attend briefings and meetings, and report for duty on time in full uniform

Required profile

• Experience is an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
