CompEx Certified E&I Inspector – Oman

About the role

We are looking for a CompEx certified Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector to join an oil and gas project in Oman on immediate deputation. The role involves ensuring that all hazardous‑area electrical equipment and installations comply with IEC, ATEX and other international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue Ex check‑list certificates and maintain the Ex‑Register for all ex‑rated equipment on site.
• Inspect and verify compliance with IEC 60079‑14 & 17, ATEX, NEC and related standards during installation and testing.
• Conduct surveillance of Ex‑certified equipment installation, ensuring correct zone classification, gas group, temperature class and ingress protection.
• Review and close non‑conformances, generate hazardous‑area inspection reports and quality inspection documentation.
• Inspect and install cable glands, junction boxes, lighting, motors and instrument terminations in hazardous zones.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering with attested certificates.
• Valid CompEx or IEC Ex certification (EX01‑EX049) and 5‑10 years of oil‑and‑gas field experience.
• Proven experience with installation, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of field instrumentation (temperature, flow, level, pressure transmitters, analyzers, condition‑monitoring sensors).
• Ability to interpret instrumentation datasheets, P&IDs, cause‑and‑effect diagrams and loop drawings.
