Drilling Supervisor / Auditor

About the role

Provide quality assurance for drill pipe, BHA and specialty tools across all business units of SGS. The role involves inspection, failure analysis, and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards for drilling and completion equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect drill pipe, BHA components, specialty tools and related equipment according to approved QA inspection plans.
• Conduct failure analysis, determine material properties, and produce compliance reports.
• Review and verify ITP/QCP documentation, witness NDT, visual and dimensional inspections, and pressure tests.
• Audit rig floor practices, verify third‑party equipment fitness, and monitor assembly/disassembly of BHA and liner hanger systems.
• Visit machine shops to ensure manufacturing and repairs meet specifications and are performed by qualified personnel.
• Prepare daily time‑logs, job reports and communicate non‑conformities to company representatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or a technical discipline.
• Minimum 8 years experience in drilling/completions, inspection or related services.
• At least 5 years experience with drill‑string and completion‑tool design, inspection and integrity.
• Minimum 3 years experience in root‑cause analysis and quality‑system auditing.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• ASNT‑TC‑1A Level II certification in MT, UT and PT.
• ISO Lead Auditor Certification.
• Proficiency with API, ASNT, ASME, NACE and DS‑1 standards.
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
