Computer Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat – Muscat is seeking a dedicated Computer Teacher to deliver the SABIS curriculum and support students in achieving their academic potential. The role involves using the SABIS teaching methodology and point system to create an engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend training sessions as requested by school management to deepen understanding of the SABIS system.
• Mark computer‑related examinations according to departmental schedules.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department.
• Implement the SABIS point system to maintain a conducive classroom atmosphere.
• Invigilate exams and ensure a properly managed exam environment.
• Provide additional support to low‑performing students to improve motivation and achievement.
• Prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers and following structured revision schedules.
• Participate in student‑life activities such as art, open house, and physical education events in coordination with the student life coordinator.
• Teach using provided lesson plans or develop plans based on pacing charts, applying the SABIS point system.
• Assist with various duties including testing, substitute teaching, organizing lunches and transport, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to meet all local employment requirements, including education certifications, reference checks, and criminal background checks.
• Commitment to the SABIS educational philosophy and equal‑opportunity employment practices.
