Construction General Manager – Oil & Gas

About the role

SGS is seeking a Construction General Manager to lead safe and efficient delivery of construction activities for oil & gas projects. The role oversees both on‑site works and modular facilities fabricated off‑site, ensuring seamless integration across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all construction phases from planning through commissioning and handover.
• Develop execution strategies, schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and internal construction teams.
• Provide construction input during engineering, procurement and project planning.
• Manage site construction, installation, testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, quality standards and industry best practices.
• Monitor progress against schedule, budget and performance targets; identify and mitigate risks.
• Supervise off‑site fabrication, transportation and installation where applicable.
• Conduct regular site inspections and review contractor performance.
• Lead constructability reviews, readiness assessments and execution reviews.
• Report regularly to senior management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in construction, industrial, infrastructure, energy or EPC projects.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale construction projects from planning to handover.
• Strong background in contractor management, project execution and site leadership.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
