About the role
We are seeking a Drainage Design Engineer to lead hydrological and hydraulic design projects for stormwater infrastructure. The role involves delivering technically robust solutions, preparing detailed design documentation, and presenting findings to clients.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive hydrological assessments using GIS and industry‑standard software (e.g., HEC‑RAS, SSA, StormCAD, SWMM).
- Design and size drainage conveyance systems, including stormwater pipe networks and open channels.
- Produce construction‑ready drawings and documentation with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (alignments, profiles, grading, pipe networks).
- Prepare clear design reports and technical memoranda in English.
- Deliver professional client presentations outlining methodology, results, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor less‑experienced staff.
Required profile
- 5–8 years of professional experience in drainage engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Strong background in hydrology and hydraulic design.
- Excellent written and spoken English with a proven ability to produce high‑quality technical reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in Water Resources or Hydrology is a plus.
Required skills
- GIS (QGIS) and hydrological modelling tools (HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, SewerGEMS, StormCAD).
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil/drainage infrastructure design.
