Encryption Engineer (Omani National)

About the role

An organization is looking for an Encryption Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in enterprise encryption, data security and cryptographic key management. The engineer implements, configures, administers and troubleshoots enterprise encryption technologies to protect data confidentiality, integrity and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, configure and maintain enterprise encryption for data at rest and in transit
• Manage the encryption key lifecycle: generation, rotation, backup, recovery and secure destruction
• Administer and troubleshoot HSMs, key management systems and encryption platforms
• Support database, application, file-level and infrastructure encryption
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch and maintain encryption systems
• Integrate encryption with applications, databases, servers and security infrastructure
• Monitor environments, investigate incidents and support security audits and compliance assessments
• Prepare technical documentation, configuration guides and procedures, and work with infrastructure, application and cybersecurity teams

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in enterprise encryption and data security
• Practical experience with encryption platforms and key management solutions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills
• Preferred: exposure to database and application encryption, and relevant security or cryptography certifications

Required skills

• Knowledge of HSMs, PKI and cryptographic key management
• Understanding of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing and digital certificates
• Familiarity with security standards, encryption policies and compliance requirements
