Executive IT Auditor

About the role

The Central Bank of Oman seeks an Executive IT Auditor to provide specialist assurance over its technology controls, including emerging AI governance. The role involves planning and executing risk‑based audits across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and related technology services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based IT audits covering infrastructure, cybersecurity, information security and technology operations.
• Review controls over networks, servers, operating systems, databases, cloud/on‑premise platforms and critical services.
• Assess IT general controls, identity and privileged access, change management, backup/recovery, patching and vulnerability management.
• Evaluate cybersecurity governance, incident response, endpoint protection, resilience and disaster recovery arrangements.
• Perform technical walkthroughs, configuration and log reviews, sample testing and prepare clear audit observations with recommendations.
• Support audits of AI‑enabled or emerging technologies by assessing governance, security, data protection and human oversight.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, information security or technology risk, preferably in banking or a regulated environment.
• Experience reviewing third‑party technology arrangements and exposure to AI governance is advantageous.
• Ability to coordinate specialist resources and provide technical guidance to audit teams.
