Field Engineer - NextGen Graduate Program Oman 2027

About the role

Weatherford is recruiting Field Engineers for its NextGen Graduate Program in Oman 2027. Field Engineers connect the company's technologies with the real-world challenges of oil and gas rigs, working in the field, often at remote rig sites, from day one. The role is part of a 4-year Technical Development Program that combines classroom learning with hands-on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deploy and operate advanced downhole tools to meet wellsite objectives
• Use simulation software to design and optimise wellsite solutions for clients
• Analyse performance data and recommend improvements
• Manage equipment logistics and ensure smooth setup and operation at the rig
• Create detailed post-job reports and share insights with clients and internal teams
• Promote continuous improvement with a focus on safety, quality and performance
• Provide front-line engineering support to customers and resolve issues independently

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (all fields) obtained within the last 24 months
• No more than 1 year of experience
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyse complex problems, think critically and make informed decisions
• Passion for hands-on work in dynamic onshore and offshore environments

The role is physically and mentally demanding, with 12-hour day or night shifts, sometimes in tough weather, and long periods away from home including weekends and holidays.
