Field Operator I – Plant Operations

About the role

The Field Operator I supports safe and efficient plant operations, assisting the production team to meet output targets while adhering to strict safety and procedural standards. Working under supervision, you will monitor equipment, report abnormalities, and help maintain reliable plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Record operational parameters and report any irregularities to the Control Room Operator or supervisors.
• Support system start‑ups and shutdowns, including pressurising and depressurising pipelines.
• Perform routine checks of pressure, temperature, level gauges and other instrumentation.
• Follow QHSE procedures such as LOTO, PTW, TBT, and JHA, and document tasks accurately.
• Participate in training, operational reviews and basic maintenance checks.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance activities, including isolation and decontamination.
• Hand over shift information clearly and report unsafe conditions promptly.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs and safety systems.
• Basic understanding of maintenance management concepts (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• Good command of English, both written and spoken; Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of industrial process equipment and monitoring.
• Ability to interpret PFDs, P&IDs, cause‑and‑effect matrices and fire‑gas detection philosophy.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with Maintenance Management Systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
