Field Operator Intern

About the role

The Field Operator Intern will support safe and efficient plant operations, assisting with equipment monitoring, start‑ups, shutdowns and routine checks under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and record equipment parameters (pressure, temperature, level) and report abnormalities to the Control Room Operator.
• Assist with pressurising/de‑pressurising pipelines, system start‑ups and shutdowns as directed.
• Perform basic operational and maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) and help prepare equipment for maintenance.
• Handle chemicals, lubricants and coolants safely, collect samples and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Follow QHSE procedures (LOTO, PTW, TBT, JHA) and ensure proper documentation and handover to the next shift.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience or internship in the oil & gas sector.
• Good English communication skills; Arabic is a plus.
• Motivated team player able to work in a diverse cultural environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with plant equipment, PFDs, P&IDs and basic troubleshooting.
• Understanding of maintenance management systems (work orders, preventive/corrective/predictive maintenance).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
