Field Service Installation & Commissioning Engineer (Muscat)

About the role

Siemens is looking for a Field Service Installation and Commissioning Engineer to join its Smart Infrastructure Electrification & Automation Business Unit in Muscat, Oman. You will be responsible for delivering on‑site installation, testing and commissioning of medium‑voltage switchgear systems, ensuring projects meet Siemens standards and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute installation, testing and commissioning of Medium Voltage Gas‑Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Air‑Insulated Switchgear (AIS) at customer sites across Oman.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, HSE, operations, clients and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
• Maintain test records, checklists and commissioning dossiers; manage punch lists and support system hand‑over.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements and quality standards; participate in audits and customer acceptance inspections.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in testing and commissioning of Siemens switchgear types (NXAIR, 8DA/DB, 8DJH, Sivacon S8) and associated protection systems.
• Hands‑on field experience with medium‑voltage GIS and AIS installations.
• Effective coordination and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
