Financial & Cost Accountant – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Muscat is seeking a Financial & Cost Accountant to join its Finance team. You will support the Assistant Director and Director of Finance in maintaining robust accounting processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and delivering accurate financial reporting for the hotel and its residential portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting operations and ensure efficient workflow.
• Oversee month‑end closing activities, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements in line with corporate standards and GAAP.
• Review and verify journal vouchers, general ledger and sub‑ledger postings, clearing contra accounts at month‑end.
• Prepare daily bank reconciliations, verify cash receipts, and ensure timely deposits.
• Validate General Cashier, night audit, and hotel revenue reports for procedural compliance.
• Submit financial, tax, municipality fee, and license reports in accordance with Omani legislation.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date Chart of Accounts and oversee proper filing of accounting records.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation and reconciliations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ability to supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Familiarity with Omani tax and regulatory requirements.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
