General Practitioner – Occupational Health & Emergency Medical Services

About the role

The position provides primary and emergency medical care together with occupational health support at an industrial site for a leading oil & gas organization in Oman. The role operates on a 30‑days‑on / 30‑days‑off roster and offers a salary of OMR 1,500 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary and emergency medical treatment to employees and visitors.
• Conduct occupational medical assessments, fitness‑to‑work evaluations and health surveillance programmes.
• Manage work‑related injuries, illnesses and coordinate referrals when needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with HSE and site management on health‑related matters.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD/MBBS) with certification in Occupational Medicine and membership in Emergency Medicine.
• Valid professional medical licence.
• Minimum 5 years experience in an Emergency Department or EMS and at least 3 years in Occupational Health.
• Mandatory experience in the oil & gas sector, preferably in offshore, refinery or petrochemical environments.

Required skills

• Strong clinical and emergency medical knowledge.
• Good knowledge of occupational health practices and OSHA injury classification.
• Ability to handle medical emergencies effectively.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and decision‑making abilities.
