Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

Renardet is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Geotechnical Engineer with professional work experience in the Sultanate of Oman. The expert provides design, advice and technical assistance on all geotechnical matters and works closely with a dedicated team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret ground investigation results and develop design parameters
• Shallow and pile foundations, bearing capacity and settlement
• Soil and rock slope stability, retaining structures and slope stabilization
• Technical reporting and independent work

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a reputable institution; qualifications obtained outside Oman must be equivalent to Omani standards under the Ministry of Higher Education
• Membership of the Oman Society of Engineers is mandatory
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in geotechnical work
• Familiarity with the Sultanate of Oman, FIDIC conditions of contract and Oman Standard Specifications of Roads and Bridges
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Prior training experience is advantageous

Required skills

• Rocscience software, including Slide2/3, Dips, SWedge and RocPlane
• Familiarity with Eurocode 7, BS/EN, ASTM and ISRM standards
• Experience with PLAXIS or RS2/RS3 is an advantage
