Head of Drama & Theatre Studies – Senior School

About the role

British School Muscat is seeking an enthusiastic leader to head the Drama and Theatre Studies department for the senior school. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a vibrant curriculum for students aged 11‑18 across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A‑Level.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve the Drama curriculum across all secondary year groups.
• Teach Drama and Theatre Studies to students aged 11‑18, with the ability to support English teaching where needed.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate the Drama teaching team, fostering professional growth.
• Organise and direct school productions, workshops and extracurricular activities.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and report outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align the department with the school’s vision and safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a UK or internationally recognised equivalent qualification.
• Degree qualified and experienced in teaching Drama at secondary level.
• Proven leadership experience within an educational setting.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Commitment to creating an inspiring, inclusive learning environment.
