Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting

About the role

The Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting will lead the company’s accounting operations and oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Omani regulations. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures the integrity of financial records, strong internal controls, and accurate accounting for assets, inventory, biological assets and production costs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the financial accounting and reporting function across the organization.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the general ledger, fixed‑asset accounting and oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory reporting obligations.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory authorities.
• Develop and maintain internal accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Support capitalization of project construction costs and asset commissioning during the construction phase.
• Oversee proper accounting for inventory, biological assets and production costs during the operational phase.
• Supervise the accounting team, ensuring efficient workflow and professional development.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 8‑10 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Omani regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and implement robust internal controls.
